trend?

The other day, i was browsing through the internet and noticed another rapper converted to Islam. Cool, not really news worthy i thought, but as i kept reading the article i noticed the number of rappers who are now Muslim has risen.

You might remember Loon, the rapper who made a cameo in Diddy's song "I Need A Girl". Well, i wouldn't call him Loon anymore..

Yes, that is the same guy. Loon has now changed his name to Amir Junaid Muuhadith, quit rapping andis now giving Da'Wa, or the teaching of Islam. He says hat Islam was the piece of mind he needed in life and is glad he found comfort in it. He's not the only mainstream Islamic artist. Busta Rhymes as also converted, and Philly freestlye rapper Freeway, who took a few years off to concentrate on is religion and participate in his Hajj, a pilgrimage in Mecca, Saudi Arabia that ALL muslims should do at least once in their life. But i'm wonderng if their is someone in the hip hop/rap industry that is "reruiting" converters, or if this is just another example of how hip hop artists are open minded people as well.. i'm open to everyones opinion so lets hear it!
